The work of ushers and greeters is truly a ministry. Liturgy flourishes in a climate of hospitality. The greeter is often the first contact a person has when entering the church. Their warmth and friendliness are crucial to that person’s experience of the church. Some duties include: greeting people as they arrive, helping people find a seat if it is crowded, finding gift bearers, passing the collection baskets, distributing bulletins as people leave, straightening the worship space so it is ready for the next liturgy. Training sessions are offered in May and November. A person is usually scheduled to greet every 3 or 4 weeks.
